Ssscat, For Quiet Feline Days

Text by Corinne Crolot/Laetitia Barlerin, pictures from www.multivet-inter.com website

If your cat sometimes gets on your nerve, the Ssscat can help you change its behaviour. This automated repellent associates a motion detector which makes a sound and then a spray. You can find it on the web.

We all know how some cats will constantly mistake your nicest plant for their litter, scratch their claws on your favourite armchair, urinate at the same spot, or climb at your brand new curtains. The Canadian company Multivet offers a good alternative to your angriness or to the declawing, practice still common in Northern America.

A very efficient automated repellent

Ssscat, For Quiet Feline DaysSsscat is made of two elements: a motion detector and a spray. A sound then a spray will be released when the motion detector detects the movement of the cat. After a few times, the sound only will be enough to keep the cat off the places you don’t want it to go.
With Ssscat, the cat associates a behaviour with a negative stimulus from its environment. This system doesn’t require your presence. Then, once the animal will have associated the sound to the spray, the sound will be sufficient to repel the cat.

You can easily adjust the angle of the spray and the motion detector according to the area you want to protect from you cat. This product is odour-free and makes no stain. This process therefore offers a positive answer to the little but sometimes annoying behavioural problems of the cat/
