The situation of the Rottweiler in France is in a bad mood… For the first time, the figures of the kennel club registrations last year decreased and with the strengthening of the dangerous dog legislation, the future of the breed in our country is really not bright BUT the behaviour of the dogs the Saturday 13th of October was the best answer to the politics : sound and friendly with others, the dogs – around 110 dogs in the catalogue - were really showing the best of the Rottweiler. Daniel Schwartz, the president of the Working dogs committee at the SCC was positively impressed by the behaviour of the dogs and he say’s that really, the Rottweiler in the rings of Illkirsch were really what we call “nice dogs”.
Illkirsch Graffenstaden is very close to Strasbourg. The OG, headed by the RCI judge, Francis Osterberger, with the help of Dominique Braun, was the place of the show : the ground was the best for this kind of show, the parking were along the ground, and during almost all the show, the sun was our guest !

Jean-Paul PETITDIDIER, president of the Society Canine du Bas-Rhin – the regional kennel club – was in charge of oversee the show. Unfortunately, he was not able to be there for medical reasons. But the day was great for most of the breeders and owners, and all of them expect the same sportsmanship next year !

The jury was not from France but Belgium and Deutschland with Roger VANDEREYKEN (from 1984 to april 2003, he was heading the Belgian Rottweiler Klub) for the females and Edgar HELLMANN (ADRK) for the dogs.
