- A cat’s sense of smell is adapted to its carnivorous diet.
- It can detect salty, sweet, and sour savors in small concentrations, but can hardly do as much with sugar. Do not try to coax your cat with sweets.
- The high sensitivity of cats to basic savors makes them very wary with regard to possible intoxications. Just like for us, taste and smell are intimately linked. The ideal temperature of the food is approximately 90°F, i.e. the temperature when the maximum fragrances are exhaled. Remember this tip with sick cats or those who refuse to eat.
- A particular thing is that cats are very sensitive to the taste of water, which does not taste insipid to them.
