Here is a report by Bo Edoff, the Chairman of the Swedish German Shepherd Breed club, which he realised during the Working Championship 2005, the Bruks/IPO.
In the slide show below, you’ll see that no matter the weather – sunny moments alternating with Swedish showers – the dogs, whether they were Malinois, German Shepherds or of another breed – didn’t care about the bad weather and realised excellent performances, to the delight of the audience.
Two very specific trials perfectly illustrate the originality of the Swedish programme: the civilian defence with a muzzle, as well as a double defence of the owner, with two civilians attacking the owner at the same time. A good way to test the courage of the dog and its capacity to react quickly in front of multiple, simultaneous threats.
