Every year, Pedigree Belgium rewards the best breeders according to their dog’s achievements. Then they become Pedigree Top Breeder. Our photographer Karl Donvil was present at this event in mid-June.
The reward ceremony for the breeder of the year 2001, took place in the Castle of Grimbergen, on June 14, 2002. Philippe Lejeune, Specialist Channels Manager, and M. Michels, with all their team, greeted the laureates just before the official ceremony started. The 13 laureates represented the 10 FCI breed group, including Young Handler David Claes. In front of the castle, a tent had been raised in the garden, and the guests had plenty of food and drinks to refresh themselves. It was an internationally famous breeder, M. Vanaken-Heinesche who finished first at the general ranking thanks to the achievements of his multi champion Xanadou des Supers Supers, a toy poodle, which is a true and worthy descendent from the Supers Supers affix. This kennel is currently one of the references in the world of the Poodles, and it won more than 150 homologated champion titles. Dogs from this kennel have been exhibited on the five continents.
