Nathalie and Jean-Marc Natti have opened the doors of their Maine Coons cattery located in the beautiful settings of the Alpes Maritimes, and they share with us their passion for the breed.
And while this cat is built to resist the harshest weather, it perfectly accommodates the Mediterranean weather, and climbs olive trees just like any local cat, as you’ll see in the superb slide show below.
It all started in 1998, during a small exhibition organised in Nice by the Cat Club Provence Côte d’Azur. On that day we had the opportunity to acquire our first female, Noz Dou, from Mr and Mrs Desnos, cattery Du Pech Del Cat.
We literally fell in love with the breed. Out of curiosity, we entered Noz Dou du Pech Del Cat to a show where she was really successful and brought us a lot of satisfaction. So we decided to create our own cattery “The Wild Cocoon”, and became members of the Cat Club Provence Côte d’Azur. Since the creation, eight cats – three males and five females – joined our cattery. We’re constantly looking for quality and the improvement of the breed, and we don’t hesitate to travel abroad in order to acquire cats. Orgedou , Rassig et Rania de la Chatterie Du Pech Del Cat were all born in France. One male, Mikado Super-Stars came from Germany. Our latest female, Anastacia Queen Escape’s came from Finland. We take part in many shows, in France and abroad too (Italy, Spain) for the pleasure and satisfaction of competition. The Main Coon is a gentle giant, and despite its size and strength, it is really affectionate. It is the ideal companion for the whole family, and its behaviour is quite like that of a dog’s: it is present, faithful, patient and attentive.
