History
Developed in the eighteenth century, this reddish, griffon-type dog is believed to have been crossed with a terrier after World War II to produce the current version. The breed was recognized in Germany in 1953 and by the FCI shortly thereafter. The Kromfohrländer is not very well-known outside his native country.
Description
Tough, lively, and alert, this sharp-eared hunting dog clearly has terrier blood. Affectionate and obedient, he makes a delightful pet. He is also a very good watchdog.
Advice
He can adapt to apartment life but needs lots of exercise. He must be brushed and combed twice a week.
