There’d been many rumours for a few weeks. Since last night, there is no president at the French Kennel Club.
There is no president at the French Kennel Club? Indeed, Renaud Buche, has just given his resignation to the managing committee. He was the chief of the French since May 2000, when he had succeeded to Camille Michel. He had be re-elected a second time in 2003. Unless we are mistaken, never had a president resigned since the creation of the French Kennel Club. There are many reasons that lead Mr Buche to make this decision, but the recent release of the COPERCI report on the status of French dog fancy probably has a lot to do with it.
We phoned Mr Buche, who told us that “Indeed, I have resigned during the meeting of the committee on July 12. but I remain a member of the committee, and despite my lack of availability which caused me to resign, I keep all my other functions within dog fancy.”
In the newt two weeks, the committee of the French Kennel Club will meet to elect Mr Buche’s successor. Let’s wish him all the best.
