The German Shepherd Dogs were judged on the first day of the Euro Dog Show, and we had many surprises during their judgements.
For the last 15 years, there’s rarely been many German Shepherd Dogs during a European dog show, and this year again was no exception to the rule.
The dogs were judged on the outside, on two rings covered by a tent, in front of the hall of the main ring.
We were at first quite surprised to see that many famous dogs were missing, both in the dogs and bitches classes. The dogs were judged by Dr Wolfgang Tauber, an Austrian specialist who had been part of the Mondial WUSV 2005 in Haguenau, while the bitches were judged Johann Niszler, who was also Austrian. Due to the small number of dogs entered, the two rings were grouped together to make only one large ring, on which the dogs were the first judged.
Hill Vom Schloss Schubert, a son of Quentin Karanberg, was the only dog in the Junior class, and he was awarded the VVS 1. He belongs to his Austrian breeder Markus Gleiss.
There was also only dog entered in the Junior class. Lars Von Contra, a son of Larus V Batu, was handled by his Hungarian Dora Szeplaki (Hongrie), was V1.
In the Open class, 3 of the seven dogs entered were missing! Mark Vom Holundgarten, a son of Niklas Van De Herdersfarm from Hungary, finished first V1, in a rather average class. Eso Od Troch Yazier (Pico Dollby Bohemia x Ritch Od Troch Yazier) was awarded the RCAC. Let’s note that the presentation was also not quite good.
In the Working class, the four dogs entered were all on the ring. The CACS was awarded to a beautiful son of Orbit Von Tronje, Chedo Vom Schuberthäuschen (Vesta Von Der Jahnhöhe), which belongs Markus Gleiss qui repart avec le CACS. He finished in font of an Italian dog, Argo Di Casa Inès
There was only one dog entered in the Champion class, a powerful 5 years old dog from Italy, Dingo Di Casa Ines (Ingo Dell’Alto Pino x Andy Di Casa Ines). This dog was bred by Gazetta, and he belongs to Maria Rosa Bessega.
Finally, in the Veteran class, Alf Vom Unger Hof (Bill V Schloss Gayenhof x Bora V Harter-Hof) – who’ll turn 10 inJuly, left with an excellent.
By the end of the morning – the judgements had begun around 10 - Johann Niszler took Wolfgang Tauber’s place in the ring to judge the bitches.
There were two bitches both in the Junior and Young classes, but their quality was not excellent.
In the Open classes, four out of the 6 bitches entered were on the ring. The Hungarian bitch Noblesse Van Contra (Remus Gero x Trinity Van Contra) picture above, belonging to her breeder Dora Szeplaki was awarded th CACS, in front of the Italian bitch Inka (Otto Di Casa Inès x Ighne Di Casa Inès), belonging to Mauro Mirandola, classed V2 and RCAC.
In the Working class, three out of four bitches were judged, and it was an Austrian bitch, Scarlett Vom Kirschental (Rapi Supra x Ika Vom Kirschental) picture above, belonging to Katarina Kurash, which left with the CACS.
In the Champion class, the CACS was awarded to the Czech bitch Queen Bohemia Acro (Fabio Uzemie Zazrakov x Gilette Bohemia Acro). Picture above.
The best veteran bitch was Glenda Di Casa Inès (Lago Del Gobbo x Tosca Di Casa Inès), a 7 years old Italian bitch. Picture above.
Finally, Wolfgang Tauber asked the six best GSDs, the three dogs and three bitches who had won their class (young, open and working) to enter the ring for the Best Of Breed. He awarded the title to the winner of the dog Working class, Chedo Vom Schuberthäuschen, belonging to Markus Gleiss, who also finished fifth of the first Group on the main ring!
