With 109 entries, the Dogo Argentino was one of the most popular breeds on the last day of the Euro Dog Show in Tulln.
Two judges were in charge of the different classes; on ring 15, Austrian judge Mrs Kirschblicher judge the junior, young and veteran classes, while on ring 16, Argentinean judge Miguel Martinez judged the other classes. His international reputation as a judge and former president of the Argentinean Canine Federation (FCA) was probably one of the reasons why of the large number of entries and the enthusiasm of both the exhibitors and spectators around the ring.
There were very few missing dogs out of the 58 dogs and 51 bitches entered. Mrs Kirschblicher had 37 entries to judge; thanks to this relatively small figure, she had plenty of time to judge the dogs, and kindly give precious advice to a few first-time exhibitors. She awarded the best young dog title to Audacity Born To Win (Bunkel Del Don Ata x Audacity Evangelina), and the best young bitch title to Lumma de Venored (Cauquen de Venored x Enea de Venaured).
Dr Martinez was very pleased with the overall quality of the classes he judged, and he underlined the homogeneity of the type of the competing dogs and bitches. And with the exception of 3 or 4 dogs which were a bit nervous in the Intermediate and Open classes, he pointed out the excellent temperament of all the dogs. The bitch CACIB was awarded to Perro Pelea Cordobes Rayo, (Koby del Indio Blanco x Pochita del Gualian) which belongs to Alexandre Calmels, while the dog CACIB went to the Argentinean dog Aguara Del Litoral, (Alfio del Litoral x Irupe del Litoral) bred by the Forlla family. After a short break at the end of the judgments, Mr Martinez called back on his ring all the pretenders to the Best of Breed title while everybody around the ring applauded loudly. After a final morphological exam and after each contestant went round the ring a last time, Mr Martinez awarded the Best Of Breed to the winner of the dog Open Class, dog Aguara Del Litoral. The judge probably was very happy with his choice the same evening, when Aguara finished on the fourth place of the podium for the judgements of the second Group.
