During the growth period, the puppy is faced with a number of growth-related diseases, some of which are nutritional in origin. Once again we must state that the growth phase is the most physiologically difficult period of a dog's life, because tissue growth is so rapid and intense. This period requires implementation of preventive veterinary medicine bringing together a wide range of different fields, including nutrition. Nutritional imbalance can cause or be a factor in a number of specific diseases with immediate or delayed clinical symptoms. These diseases, caused by nutritional deficiencies, overconsumption, or even feeding errors, affect mainly the bones and joints.
