- Symptoms: diffuse squamatization on the upper dorsal-lumbar region. Intense and incessant pruritis. Positive otopodal reflex (the animal shakes his hind leg when his ear is scratched). Hair loss on the scratched surfaces. Highly contagious in kennels. Can be transmitted to humans (papular prurigo on the arms and trunk).
- Treatment: an acaricide must be used.
