Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the conjunctiva and the nictitating membranes. It may be caused by allergies, infections or parasites.
- Primary symptoms: redness, edema (sometimes) stinging and irritation, ocular discharge that may be fluid, mucous or mucopurulent.
- Steps to take: cleaning the eye thoroughly with a cleansing eyewash will sooth the inflammation. However, the causes can only be completelyeliminated through treatment prescribed by a veterinarian.
