While Yakee A Dangerous Liaison probably still receives treats for his Best in Show at Crufts, Ch Yakee Leaving Me Breathless at Franshaw distinguishes himself in the USA by finishing the year 2002, number 3 All Breed and Top Pekingese.
Scottish breeders Albert Easdon & Phillip Martin are happy. Located in Glasgow, their Pekingese selection is currently the most famous in Great Britain. The year began at 200 mph for their dogs. In the UK, their dog born in 1999, Yakee A Dangerous Liaison (Ch Tenling Golden Arrow of Pekehuis x Shantallah Night Fever at Yakee) finished his career splendidly: he became the first Pekingese in the history of the breed to ever win the Best In Show at Crufts. Let’s note that he had finished Top Dog All Breed in 2001, and that he was also the Pekingese with the most BIS victories. See the report on the BIS at Crufts 2003.
Dangerous Liaison was not shown at the recent Pekingese Club Championship on March 16, as the judge was Albert Easdon.
In the USA, another dog from Yakee kennel made the front page of the magazine Dogs In Review. Champion Yakee Leaving Me Breathless At Franshaw (Yakee Lasting Impressions x Yakee Jezebel) is handled by Hiram Stewart. At the age of 2, he already won 24 All Breed Best In Shows, 4 Independent Specialties – among which the Pekingese Club Of America on October 11 2002 – and more than 40 Best of Groups. This dog born in 2000 belongs to John Shaw & Maria Francis, from Los Angeles. Recently, he won the Best In Show at Louisville Dog Show – Kentucky – under the judgement of M. Eugene Black. According to the magazine Showsight, Breathless is currently 4th at the Top Dog All Breed ranking.
A third dog from Yakee kennel, Yakee Yearn For Me, also distinguished himself in the USA, where he won the Best Of Breed of the North Central Illinois Pekingese Club at the end of last year.
