As strange as it may seem, we have decided to present to you an automata exhibition. Still, those of you who will have the chance to be in Paris, France, for the end of the year, will be able to see by themselves that animals are at the center of this exhibition, where poetry and mechanics are intimately entwined.
The 45 pieces which are exhibited in the Salons Arturo Lopez in Neuilly-sur-Seine belong to the Cabaret Mechanical Theatre's Travelling Exhibition and to creator John Smith’s private collection. They are all contemporary pieces.
In a few seconds, these wooden machines tell a short story - whose hero is an animal, either real or mythical. Visitors start the machines thanks to a big button that activates the mechanism. It is a delight for children.
On exiting the exhibition, children and adults receive cut-outs and paper jumping jacks, just so you can take that fun feeling home with you.
