Dog breeds are not equal faced to undesirable behaviours, according to a Danish study.
From the analysis of 4,359 dogs, one can draw the following conclusions about two behavioural disorders:
Breeds which tend to suffer from inter species aggressiveness (aggressiveness between dogs) are the following: Belgian Shepherd Dog, Dachshund, Dalmatian, German Shepherd Dog, Hovawart, Pinscher, Rottweiler and Spitz.
Concerning the phobia of gunshots, the most affected breeds are the Poodle, the 5 breeds of Retrievers, herding dogs on the whole, the Spitz and the Terriers.
It is interesting to observe that dogs owned by young persons are more aggressive towards other dogs than dogs owned by elderly persons. The same applies to dogs owned by persons who had an imperfect knowledge of the breed before its acquisition. Finally, dogs owned by breeders are less subjects to this kind of undesirable behaviours.
