WDS 03: Italy And Japan Dominate The Dachshunds

The Dachshunds, with their three sizes – standard, miniature and Kaninshcen – and hair varieties – long, wire and short – represented several hundreds of dogs in Dortmund. 8 judges were in charge of judging the breed.
The winner of the Group was a Standard short haired dog coming from an Italian Kennel, Gustavo di Villhermosa.
The seond place on the podium was awarded to Nobel vom Benthener Forst, a long haired miniature Dachshund very famous in Germany. This dog comes from Chritel and Jürgen Päplow’s selection. He now belongs to a Japanese fancier, who certainly did not regret to have made such a long trip from the county of the Rising Sun.
Indeed, the third dog of the Group also belongs to Mr Kakinoki, Toshikazu. Twister vander Gass is a miniature longhaired Dachshund, born in July 1997.
