Though water rescues are recognized as a very valuable service, there is currently no school to train dogs in water rescue situations. Only national federations provide team training. All handler/dog pairs are volunteers, devoting their energy and free time to saving human lives in water-related accidents.
Training centers in France have, nevertheless, created a water rescue certificate (which is not yet officially recognized) that would allow a program to be officially created.
