In order to carry out all of the possible interventions, a minimum of equipment may also be very useful:- a bond: to muzzle a conscious or dangerous dog, or a dog in extreme pain (do not muzzle an unconscious dog);- compresses: to enable direct compression and create a simple bandage;- a large bandage: scarf or equivalent to create a tourniquet;- a pair of curved scissors with rounded tips: to cut the fur around the wound or burn;- a large needle: only to be used in case of stomach dilatation;- a pair of bi-tweezers: to test for cutaneous sensitivity in case of possible lesions of the spinal column;- a splint: for all fractures or luxation;- disinfectants: soap and liquids;- diluted, oxygenated water;- thermometer (for cases of heat stroke).
