Dog's feeding behavior

Wild dogs devote a lot of time and energy to finding, chasing and capturing their prey. Their predatory behavior is motivated by hunger. The prey has the following characteristics: it is not aggressive, the dog has not been saturated with it and it is associated with the acquisition of food. The wild dog's diet is composed of small prey such as mice, lizards and insects. Sometimes, however, it may also include medium-sized prey such as rabbits and even large prey such as deer. Hunting is done either alone, in small groups or in packs. In the case of domestic dogs, their diet must meet their needs for growth and maintenance, work and gestation based on their size, age, life style and physiological state (e.g. nursing dog). In order to avoid possible hierarchical problems that could lead to biting, it is advisable to respect the rules of training. The dog should eat after his owners or more than one hour before the owners dine. Owners should never give the dog food from the table. The dog's food dish should always be placed in the same spot in a room other than the one where the owners eat. The dog should be left alone when eating and should not be observed.
