The cat as an actor

Like a situation comedy with all kinds of humor, cats are never without ideas. They put on a pitiful face if mealtime is missed, loiter about their empty dish, look their owner straight in the eye and meow. Their voice is husky, coming from deep down. It is the cry of a beggar. Then they turn into a tramp, checking out trashcans with their nostrils wide open. It would be surprising if they did not find an old bone, a few scraps of ham or the leftover meat of the youngest child who does not like beef steak. At any rate the cat always has a solution to the closet! With one swipe of the paw, it knocks down the whole pile of little tarts and dry food. One would have to be deaf not to react to this cataclysm.

Another place where the cat reveals its humor is the litter box. Has the litter not been changed?

It walks around its toilet, sniffs it, steps one foot in and immediately takes it out of this foul heap of odors that is a magnet for a diseases of all sorts like a devil on springs. However, there are also scenes where the cat has no humor. If it misses a landing while doing its acrobatic feats, it is ashamed and hides in a corner out of sight and licks itself for a long time, focusing his energy on this substitute grooming, which is an attitude specific to cats when they are ill at ease.
