As each year, the GSD breed club in Spain – Real CEPPA – made his Championship show in october, close to Madrid, with almost 600 dogs in the catalogue !
This year, our GSD lover Melissa Condé made the job for Aniwa. She was at this 29th Championship show of the Real CEPPA (Club Espanol Del Perro De Pastor Aleman). And for the second time, the show took place in Alcobendas, with a beautiful stadium for this king of show.
Alcobendas is in the north-east of Madrid, kind of new city with a lot of facilities and easy to go in (highway, airport very close, etc.).
Many Italians and French breeders were there. In the catalogue, 584 dogs entered – with the 4/6 month classes, 62 bitches and 36 dogs.
When we compare the statistics of entries with the other major GSD countries in Europe, Spanish GSD fans should be proud of their National Specialty Show !
Next year, in January, the Real CEPPA will have his 30th birthday and I thing that the 30th Specialty Show will be a great event.
The GSD trends around the world – statistics of the Kennel Club – are not mainly in a good mood… except, Spain : well, if the Yorkshire Terrier is now the most popular breed in this country, the GSD is still strong – 2nd place – and an increase of the registrations : 7620 in 2001, 10620 in 2006!
In Alcobendas, the jury was made with two sv’s judges, Lothar Quoll (Vom Agilolfinger) and Leonhard Schweikert (Aus Agrigento), one french, Marc Renaud (Du Chemin Du Rô) and for Real CEPPA judges, the Real CEPPA President Felipe Calvo, Rafael Arenillas, Juan Francisco Vargas (De Auringis) et Juan Antonio Garcia. Royal Canin espana was the main sponsor of the show. An the place, the sport stadium of Alcobendas, was really perfect for this kind of three days show.
In the working dog class – 51 entries - D Rafael Arenillas choose a spanish breeding dog as Sieger 2007, Isso de Legio VII, son of Waiko Vom Konigsadler (Cary V Fiemereck on a VA Scott Von Deodatus daughter), a dog of four years old the next 1st of December.
In this class, 5 dogs took the Auslese title followed by 16 V (excellent grading). That is to say that more than 50% of the entries were not there…
