There are two styles of judging: traditional judging and American judging (TICA or CFA).
One of the main differences between these two styles of judging involves the number of judges that rate each animal. In American judging, each cat in the show (regardless of sex, age, or breed) must be evaluated by each judge, no matter how many entrants are presented. Furthermore, American judging is not public, so that comments can be uninhibited. Traditional judging tends to be conducted with greater discretion, and is therefore more limited.
