Westhoffen, in Alsace, was the place to be for GSD fanciers, the 27th of April 2008. This is in motion, some of the best GSD in the rings...
The manager of the show was Daniel Fritschmann, a GSD fancier involved in the breed for over 30 years. With his team, they made such a nice specialty show, with over 120 dogs. The judges were Mr Henri MOTZ (SCBA) and Hans Peter Riecker (SV), famous with his Von Bad Boll kennel.
Françis Reuther, président of the SCBA (Société du Chien de Berger Allemand), was judging the behavior tests with Hervé Weisser as helper.
Pierre Geist, Mayor of Westhoffen was there as Angèle Ochs, wife of the missing Edmond Ochs, one of the greatest GSD breeders in France, in the 70's and 80's under the kennel name Von Der Silbergrube.

Il most of the competitors were coming from the Alsacian region, some germans were there, with some good dogs. Westhoffen, in the heart of the Alsasischer Vineyards, the "Route des Vins d'Alsace" is a small town - less than 2000 people - located on the banks of the river Westerbach, at the edge of the vast forest of Westhoffen (940 hectares).Viewpoints in the forest, notably from the top of the hill of " Geierstein ", the OG Westhoffen, were the show took place, was one of those viewpoints. In the working dog class, the winner was coming from Deutschland, Vimo Vom Feuerball (a Ghandi Arlett son) and just behind him, the VA's SCBA, Ulk du Chemin de la Montagne, a very good mover, son of Nils Wilsteigger Land (Rikkor V Bad Boll), one of the most beautifull grey dog actually in our country. At the third and fourth places, two young VA's from France, Vermer de la Presqu'ile Guérandaise (Thuram de Minguevel/Rico/Baru Haus Yu) and Vritz de la Huche Normande (Fritz V Farbenspiel).
In the working class females, a competitor from Deutschland Kessi Von Der Rieser Perle (Quentin Karanberg) was the clear winner of the class. During the final, Kessi was handled by the youngest handler of the day Katharina Greiner (her father is running the Vom Akrobat Kennel).
In the youth dog class, a very nice young male catch the eye : Bono V Hohen Wald (son of Arex V ¨Pannoniansee/Unix/Marko/Ursus) owned by Jutta Wagner.
