These organizations include:
- The Kennel ClubCreated in 1873, earlier than the French SCC, the Kennel Club is the oldest organization devoted to purebred dogs. For the first one hundred years of its existence, only men could be members of the Kennel Club. It was not until 1979 that women were admitted.The function of the Kennel Club is similar to that of the French SCC. The KC organizes approximately 6,000 dog shows each year. The most prestigious on the international stage is undoubtedly Crufts, which assembles more than 26,000 dogs over four days of competition.
- The American Kennel ClubFormed in 1884, the AKC was created around the same time as the French SCC. The AKC is made up of breed clubs and associations, but also admits multi-breed clubs. The AKC’s staff works in offices in North Carolina and New York. The AKC organizes more than 13,000 dog shows each year and also contributes to several other fields, such as the creation of a training institute for judges and a foundation for research in the field of dog health.
- The Bermuda Kennel ClubThe youngest of all the federations, the BKC was founded in 1955 and is still affiliated with the FCI. The BKC organizes two annual shows, one in fall and one in spring.
- Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC)The ANKC was founded in 1911 as an affiliate of the FCI. It maintains the same standards, but the judging of the 153 breeds it recognizes differs slightly. The ANKC's committee is made up of two delegates from each of its eight Member States. The committee meets two times per year for four days.Judges are chosen by the General Council of each Member State from a pool of candidates that must have at least ten years' experience. There are currently 876 judges recognized in Australia, 233 of which are approved to judge all breeds.
- The Canadian Kennel ClubBased in Toronto, the CKC was formed in 1888. The CKC has approximately 25,000 active members represented by twelve delegates who are elected by the different regions. In 1995, the CKC organized 1,961 dog shows, with a seemingly higher registration than in previous years.
