Cats they wanna have fun! They love catching a ball and running after everything that moves. As a good owner, you should play with your cat. All right, play you will. But with what?
Very early in their life, cats play. From the age of three weeks, kittens play together under the attentive eyes of their mother. Together, they will start infernal hunting and hide-and-seek games. Most of the time when playing, cats simulate approaches and attacks. The game is a simulation of hunting: cats hide, watch, then lie in an watchful attitude, slowly move closer, and jump with their claws out on the paper ball.
No matter their breed or age, cats need regular exercise to remain in good physical condition. The game is the best way for them to burn their extra energy. And when you’re playing with your cats, this strengthens the bonds between your and your pets. So spend time with your kitty to entertain it, as the game is a moment of sheer happiness, just like lying in the sunlight.Cats are fascinated by everything that moves: bubbles, a fly, a curtain flying in the wind, a toy car on the floor, etc. If you have a special budget to buy them toys, you will find everything you want for their pleasure… and yours. From wool mice to feather stick or glowing balls. Some of these toys or accessories are quite sophisticated, and chances are your cat will spend hours playing with them.
It is also important to know that a cat can play with almost everything to, and that you could also give it homemade toys: a simple box, a cork, an aluminium paper ball. Nothing will delight your cat more than a pine, a feather or a cork tied at the end of a thread, and which you will make turn above its head. It will then stand on its hind legs and try to catch that flying object. Yet there are a couple of things you should be very careful about: plastic bags, which are dangerous because the cat could suffocate or choke on them. And make sure that your homemade toys are strong enough to resist to your cat’s attacks and don’t fall into pieces, which it could swallow.
And above all, no matter which option you choose, spend time with your cat and have fun!
