Generally, a healthy cat's eyes do not require special care, though owners should watch for tearing, inflammation, and pussiness. Some breeds, particularly those with short faces, require special care since their tears overflow and form a ring around the eye. To clean the eyes, use a sterile pad soaked with an antiseptic specifically formulated for the eyes. Wipe away the excess tears and clean the corner of the eyes.
